GRP Applications

FIBASIL® Surface Tissues

FIBASIL® Surface Tissues have been specifically designed and developed for use in the GRP industry. Starting at extremely fine 20g tissues, this range provides multiple solutions for high precision A-Class surface finishes, reinforcing and controling the thickness of the resin rich layer at the surface of the laminate. The resulting improvements in surface finish, impact and abrasion resistance, and excellent chemical resistance, ultimately prevent the ingress of corrosive elements into the vulnerable body of the laminate, thus enhancing the quality and durability of the finished part.

Typical Uses

  • Exclusive automotive panels
  • Wind-turbine blades
  • Powerboats and yachts
  • Pipes and fittings
  • Cooling towers
  • Chemical vessels
  • Other industrial applications

Key Characteristics

FIBASIL® Surface Tissues consists of a highly permeable, non-woven, chemically resistant, premium glass tissue. The combination of the randomly dispersed, continuous monofilaments bonded together with a binder which is compatible with poylester, epoxy and vinyl ester resins, ensures exceptional dimensional stability while allowing the superior drapability of the tissue into highly profiled moulds.
